A Research Project entitled “Transforming Campus Sustainability: Leveraging Smart IoT Devices for Energy-Efficient Green Ecosystem” funded by the East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT), is seeking applications for the following positions

Research Assistant/Associate:

Details of the positions are given below:

Duties and responsibilities:

• Conduct literature reviews on IoT-based smart systems, energy management, automation, and sustainability, and assist in system setup, configuration, testing, and pilot implementation.

• Support installation, operation and control of smart devices devices, and collect, organize, and maintain real-time energy consumption data and device logs.

• Monitor system performance through the IoT dashboard, perform quantitative analysis of energy use and carbon-emission reduction, and assist in qualitative data collection through surveys and interviews.

• Prepare figures, tables, technical summaries, reports, and presentations, and assist in manuscript preparation and dissemination of outcomes through conferences or journals.

• Maintain documentation of codes, scripts, datasets, and project progress, and perform other research-related tasks assigned by the Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator.

Qualification:

• M.Sc. or final-stage M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline from a recognized university.

• Strong programming, analytical, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Python and familiarity with machine learning, deep learning, or related computational tools.

• Knowledge of or interest in IoT systems, embedded devices, smart automation, dashboard-based data monitoring, or computer vision will be an advantage.

• Good communication, documentation, and academic writing skills.

Experience (If Applicable):

• Experience in research or project work involving data collection, preprocessing, experimentation, analysis, documentation, and reporting will be preferred.

• Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, intern, or in similar academic/research roles will be considered an advantage.

• Experience with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, data visualization, AI/ML workflows, computer vision, IoT/robotics-related work, or publication writing will be treated as an added advantage.

Job Type & Duration: 

Contractual, project-based appointment for the project duration (11 months).

Salary: 

Research Assistant - BDT 20,000/= (consolidated per month)

Research Associate- BDT 25,000/= (consolidated per month)

A Research Project titled, “Men’s Experiences of Female-Perpetrated Intimate Partner Violence: A Qualitative Study of Selected Cases in the Dhaka Division” funded by the East West University Center for Research and Training (CRTEWU), is seeking applications for the following positions.

Research Assistant/Associate:

Details of the positions are given below:

Duties and responsibilities (Research Assistant):

Field Administration, Field Monitoring, Quantitative Data Collection (conducting FGDs & interviews), Management (transcript preparation & Data coding), and Assisting Report Writing.

Qualification:

At least Master’s in Social Science (Sociology/Social Work Preferred).

Experience: (If Applicable): 

Candidates should have proven experience in conducting field-level qualitative research and be [proficient in using Atlas and NVivo software. Preference will be given to applicants with qualitative research publications in peer-reviewed international journals.

Job Type & Duration: Project -based; 02 months

Salary: BDT 20,000/= (consolidated per month)

Duties and responsibilities (Research Associate):

Responsibilities include field administration and assistance, selecting prospective participants, preparing case reports, and ensuring compliance with ethical protocols.

Qualification:

At least LLB.

Experience: (If Applicable): 

Candidates should demonstrate proven experience in providing legal and administrative support to male victims of violence, possess several years of administrative and legal experience in a men’s rights organization, and have a track record of activism in men’s rights in Bangladesh.
