The Grand Opening Ceremony of EWU National RoboFest 2024, organized by the East West University Robotics Club was held on 7 November 2024 in the Manzur Elahi Auditorium of East West University campus. The Prime Bank presents EWU National RoboFest 2024 is one of the largest gatherings of robotics and tech enthusiasts in Bangladesh, bringing together over 526 teams and more than 2,000 participants, distinguished guests, and industry leaders nationwide from more than 85 institutions. More than 200 students from 25 schools and colleges are also participating. The major event segments include the Programming Hero Presents National Hackathon, National Science and IT Olympiad, Project Showcase, Robot Exhibition, Capture The Flag, Case Solving, exciting Gaming segments (Esports Rivals, Line Follow Robo Challenge, RoboSoccer, etc.), and Roundtable Discussion on Sustainable AI in Industry 5.0.
Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Founder and Member, Board of Trustees, East West University graced the Opening Ceremony as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser and Founder Vice Chancellor, East West University and Former Governor, Bangladesh Bank graced the event as the Program Chair. Mr. A Y M Mostafa, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Executive Vice President of Prime Bank was present as Special Guest. Professor Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Adviser of East West University Robotics Club congratulated the East West University Robotics Club organizers for arranging such a most demanding event. In the end, distinguished guests proceeded to the EWU ground for the ceremonial inauguration, which included ribbon-cutting, the release of balloons, and segments visiting.
This three-day festival (7-9 November 2024) will highlight Bangladesh's future potential for sustainable AI and robotics by showcasing the greatest in innovation, teamwork, and brilliance in robotics, engineering, and information technology. EWU National RoboFest 2024 is a landmark event, not only for East West University but for the tech community in Bangladesh. Each segment has been meticulously designed to engage and inspire participants while setting new standards in innovation, engineering, and digital skills across the nation.
