"Science Fair” organized by EWU Science Club

The East West University Science Club (EWUScC) successfully hosted the Science Fair 2025 on 23rd and 24th November at East West University. The two-day event brought together 300 contestants, 56 dedicated volunteers, and 20 talented performers, offering a platform for students to showcase their innovative projects and creative skills.
The fair kicked off on Day 1 with an inspiring Opening Ceremony, officiated by Air Cdre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer of East West University, and Ismat Shereen, Adviser of the Department of Students' Welfare and Head of the Career Counselling Center (CCC). Following the opening, the event featured a Poster & Project Showcase, where students presented their scientific ideas to an eager audience, along with the PUBG Tournament and the Chemistry & Biology Olympiad and Content Writing Competition, offering exciting opportunities for intellectual and creative competition.
On Day 2, the event was honored by Dr. Mubarak Ahmad Khan, Chief Guest and Former Director General of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, who delivered an inspiring address to the participants. The second day also featured a seminar titled “Facts vs Myths: Radiation & Safety Systems of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant”, presented by Dr. Afroza Shelley, Professor at the Department of Nuclear Engineering, University of Dhaka.
The event concluded with a Prize Giving Ceremony to recognize the winners of the various competitions, which was attended by 189 people, including guests, contestants, executive members, and volunteers. Following the ceremony, a lively Cultural Program celebrated the artistic talents of East West University students.
Distinguished guests included Dr. Anindita Paul, Founder of the Science Club and Chairperson of the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Dr. Gurudas Mandal, Professor at the same department, and Dr. Md. Hamed Hussain, Assistant Professor at the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. Additionally, Khairum Islam, EWUScC Alumnus and Lecturer at the Department of CSE, shared his inspiring journey with the students.
The event was expertly moderated by Dr. Zubair Hasan and Dr. Md. Tauhid Bin Iqbal, whose guidance and seamless coordination ensured the smooth execution of the Science Fair 2025.
The Science Fair 2025 was a resounding success, underscoring the role of EWUScC in fostering scientific innovation, collaboration, and excellence within East West University.
