Nikhil Chandra Shil PhD is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Business Administration, East West University, Bangladesh.
Mr. Shil owns a very good academic history. He has board merit positions at both SSC and HSC examinations. He has earned BBA and MBA degrees from Department of Accounting and Information Systems, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka. From the same department, he has finished his doctoral studies. In addition to academic degrees, he has already established himself as a talented professional accountant in home and abroad. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), associate member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) UK, a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and a Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CPFA) of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), UK.
He has a good record of research and publications. He has co-authored a book titled ‘Bangladesh Income Tax: Theory and Practices’ which is being taught in most of the public and private universities of Bangladesh. He has published a book titled ‘Financial Management: A Strategic Perspective’ from SAGE PUBLICATIONS INDIA and another book titled ‘Auditing and Corporate Governance’ from Kalayani Publishers, New Delhi. He has some other books, research monographs and editorial books published from renowned international publishers.
He also publishes his research papers in different local and international journals. So far, he has published a good number of journal articles mostly in international referred journals. He also acts as Editorial Board Members in some international academic and professional journals. He visited different countries and presented his research works in conferences before international research community. He has been invited to address the audiences in some conferences as key note speaker. He has experiences to speak before professional accountants as resource person and speakers in different professional gatherings organized by South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) and International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) etc. His research areas are diffusion of management accounting practices, management accounting change and innovation, behavioral management accounting, governance, tax, public finance management, public sector accounting, emerging issues in accounting, behavioral research in accounting etc.
