Congratulations to Nurun Nahar and Sk. Salman Araf!
East West University is delighted to announce that two talented Bachelor of Pharmacy students, Nurun Nahar and Sk. Salman Araf, have been awarded the prestigious Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA). Each recipient will receive CAD 6,000 to support their 12-week international research internships at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
This highly competitive award highlights the excellence of East West University students and strengthens academic and research collaboration between East West University, Bangladesh, and Concordia University, Canada.
Nurun Nahar will conduct her research under the supervision of Host Supervisor Dr. Anan Chen, Assistant Professor at Concordia University, and Home Supervisor Dr. Nazia Hoque, Associate Professor at East West University. Her project is titled “Broad-Spectrum Antivirals Discovery Against Plus-Strand RNA Viruses.”
Sk. Salman Araf will conduct his research under the supervision of Host Supervisor Dr. Brandon Findlay, Associate Professor at Concordia University, and Home Supervisor Dr. Rejina Afrin, Associate Professor at East West University. The title of his project is “Controlling the Evolution of Antibiotic Resistance.”
