Dr. Dilara Begum, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Information Studies, East West University has been selected as the Management Board Member of Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) [https://pib.gov.bd/site/page/49188687-4ce6-4052-99b9-6c77f128f4ea/-]. From the very beginning PIB has been run by a Board consisting of 14 members that include representatives from the Newspapers Council, Editors Association, Journalists’ Union, concerned ministry and dignitaries of the country.
The Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Major activities of the PIB include among other things organizing training programs for journalists on different topics, undertaking research projects on various issues of media and mass communication and their impacts on society and publishing books, journals, booklets etc.
The Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) was first conceptualized by the Government of Bangladesh led by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1974.
