Our Achievement

We are proud to announce that Mahidul Hasan, a second-year student from the Department of Law, East West University, has been awarded the prestigious title of “Outstanding Member of Parliament” at the NILS-LEB National Model Legislative Assembly 2025. This landmark national event brought together nearly 350 students from 53 universities across Bangladesh, creating a dynamic platform to simulate the sessions of a national parliament.

Jointly organized by The Network for International Law Students (NILS), CU Chapter and Legal Empowerment Bangladesh (LEB), the event featured three houses of parliament. Mahidul served in House 1: House of Legislative Reform, focusing on reforming the Anti-Corruption Commission Act.

We are also pleased to share that Ms. Nadia Rahaman, Senior Lecturer, Department of Law, East West University, served as an adjudicator and Speaker of House 1. Her pivotal role in steering the parliamentary proceedings, guiding complex debates, and ensuring a high standard of discourse added immense value to the event and enriched the learning experience for all participants.

In addition to Mahidul’s achievement, fifteen other students from EWU actively participated in the event, both as delegates and organizers. Their enthusiasm and contribution reflect the Department's continued commitment to nurturing future leaders in law and governance.
