Md Alvee Islam becomes the First ever Black Belt Achiever in Karate in the East West University

Md Alvee Islam becomes the first student and celebrates his significant milestone in his sports journey in the university’s history to be promoted to Black Belt (First Dan) in Karate. His achievement was certified through the Dhaka Dan Examination (Shotokan) 2025/01, organized by the Bangladesh Karate Federation.

The EWUSC School of Karate was initiated in November 2022 under the guidance of Ms. Shahnaz Ameer, Senior Lecturer, Department of English, and is currently run under the observation of Dr. Md. Mobarak Hossain Khan, Professor, Department of Social Relations, and Moderator of the East West University Sports Club (EWUSC). The training has been led by Sensei Zaker Ullah, whose dedication and expertise have shaped the program since its beginning.

In just two years and nine months, the EWUSC School of Karate has registered over 200 students, fostering a culture of discipline, skill, and perseverance. Md Alvee Islam’s years of dedication and training have led to this proud first black belt for the university, reflecting both his personal achievement and EWU’s commitment to encouraging physical fitness, resilience, and excellence among its students.
