Position: UNV Policy Communication Associate


Organization: UNDP


Responsibilities:

The key functions of Policy Communication Associate are: 

• Archiving Resources (Photos, Videos, Publications): - Digitize project materials for easy access and preservation. - Organize digital archives to ensure that the project’s documents, reports, photographs, and videos are systematically stored and retrievable. 

• Content Gathering and Idea Generation: -Collect information and stories from various project activities. -Brainstorm and propose creative ideas for content creation that effectively communicate the impact and importance of the project. 

• Writing and Designing Content: -Write the content, especially for the Research and Analytics Unit (RAU) established in BIDA under TEPP, which includes writing content for priority sectors, country profiles, policy briefs, etc. -Design the content using standard design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effect, etc. 

• Digital Support for Social Media and Outreach: -Assist in creating content on project activities and outcomes for the websites and social media platforms of UNDP and BIDA. -Provide support for digital outreach initiatives, including social media campaigns, to broaden the reach of the project. 

• Event Coverage and Assistance: -Cover the project’s events, which may include taking photographs, writing summary reports or articles, securing media coverage, etc. 

• Perform any other tasks as required. Core competencies:

Requirements:


Age: 27 - 80


Nationality: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.


3 years of experience in :- 
• Digital assets management and archiving photos and videos. 
• Experience in economic data management. 
• Demonstrated experience in writing and designing knowledge-based digital communication materials (e.g., sector profile/policy brief) using standard design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effect, etc. (provide link/pdf of minimum 02 previous work as proof with your application for the position) 
• Experience in writing content and managing social media sites, e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. 
• Experience working in the UN system will be added as an advantage. 
• Familiarity with volunteerism for development, and direct experience as a volunteer is desirable.

Required education level

Bachelor degree or equivalent in Economics, Development Studies, Communication, Journalism, Mass Media, English Language and Literature or Business Studies from a reputed university is required.

 

Duration: 7 months (with possibility of extension)
