Requirements:
Education:

An undergraduate degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), preferably Architecture/ Civil Engineering degree from any recognised and reputed University of Bangladesh or abroad.
Additional Requirements:
- Age at most 26 years

Willingness to extensively travel at different parts of the country

Proficient written and verbal communication skills both in Bangla and English

Admirable leadership, interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills

Excellent computer skill, and hands on experience of software like AutoCAD, GIS, Sketchup etc.

Strong analytical skills, and capacity to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Contract Tenure: 12 months

Travel: Willingness to travel on a regular basis to remote areas of Bangladesh is required. 20-40% time should be dedicated to filed visits.

Job Purpose

WaterAid is looking for deserving, dynamic, passionate and self-driven applicants for the role of ‘Young Professional’ for its country programme office in Bangladesh. The incumbent requires fresh graduate or nominal experience and is willing to gain some experiences to build up career in the development field with focus to the programme implementation.

Young Professional (YP) does not mean a ‘staff’ employed by WaterAid Bangladesh, but it is a special programme through which WaterAid provides adequate support and opportunity to the Bangladeshi young and talented aspirants having good academic background. This will enable them to develop their skills within an organisational setting, gain relevant experience and prepare themselves for future professional contributions. The YP will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to WaterAid Bangladesh's Technical Services department. S/he will be responsible to support designing solutions to ensure clean water, safe sanitation, and good hygiene for all. Also, contribute to planning, piloting, implementing/documenting ideas and projects that will enhance WaterAid's portfolio. This position will offer exciting challenges to undertake and gain valuable on-job trainings.
Key Responsibilities

Support in promoting WASH through innovative technologies/ approaches
-
Organise trainings/ workshops and other capacity building activities
-
Assist in the development of training module and communication materials for different capacity building initiatives
-
Develop designs incorporating green technologies for ensuring environmental safety and sustainability of WASH infrastructures.

Design and estimate climate resilient and universally accessible technologies to support programme implementation
-
Conduct field visit to provide technical assistance to different projects/programmes as and when needed
-
Assist in development/ revision of organisational guideline and policies.

Development of knowledge pieces and its publications at appropriate media
-
Documentation, reporting, and presentation as and when required
Compensation & Other Benefits:

BDT 30,000, Cell phone allowance, Festival allowance BDT 30,000 for completed tenure and Health Insurance for self.
