Closing ceremony of Global MIL Week 2022

The Department of Information Studies and Library Management at East West University organized a closing seminar on October 31, 2022, to conclude the week-long celebration of Global MIL Week 2022. The closing seminar was held focused on “Nurturing trust: A Media and Information Literacy Imperative” theme of the Global MIL Week 2022. Distinguished Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro-Vice Chancellor of East West University, attended the seminar as the chief guest. The importance of the conference was enhanced by the attendance of additional dignitaries, including Dr. Kazi Mostak Gausulm Hoq, Professor of Information Science and Library Management at the University of Dhaka, as Keynote Speaker, Ms. Susan Maree Vize, Officer-in-Charge of the UNESCO Dhaka Office, as Special Guest, and Sanjay K. Bihani, Second Secretary (LIO) of the High Commission of India also as Special Guest. Dr. Dilara Begum, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management, East West University chaired the seminar. The keynote paper on the theme was presented, and after the keynote speech, there was a question-and-answer session during which audience members could participate. Other esteemed guests then offered their remarks. The quiz competition's winner was declared from the seminar, and crests and certificates were also given out to the winners. The quiz was held on October 27, 2022. The event was concluded with a vote of gratitude from the program chair, and then the esteemed guest visited the “Global MIL Corner” that was made by students from East West University's Department of Information Studies and Library Management. The East West University treasurer, faculty members, information professionals, administrative officers, and students were present at the closing seminar. The event also attended by the information specialists from several institutions.
