East West University and Huawei Technologies Partner to Boost ICT Education, AI Skills, and Professional Development

East West University (EWU) and Huawei Technologies Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 08 October 2026 at the university campus. The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration under the global Huawei ICT Academy program. Through this partnership, EWU students will gain access to industry-oriented AI training, ICT skills development, cutting-edge technology resources, and specialized professional certifications, designed to prepare them for global career opportunities in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector.

The signing ceremony was graced by key representatives from both organizations. East West University was represented by Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, Vice Chancellor (Acting), and Professor Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences & Engineering, alongside key university leadership. Representing Huawei Technologies Limited were Mr. Ma Ben, Managing Director of Public Affairs, Huawei South Asia, along with other distinguished delegates from the Huawei Brand and Communications department.

Speaking on the partnership, university leadership highlighted that the collaboration reflects EWU’s continued commitment to providing career-ready skills, AI and emerging technology training, professional certifications, and opportunities for innovation among its student body. Representatives from Huawei expressed their eagerness to support youth development and advance ICT talent in Bangladesh through industry-focused training and certification opportunities.

The event saw an enthusiastic turnout of around 100 students and faculty members who gathered to learn about upcoming initiatives under the collaboration, including AI training programs, Huawei ICT Academy courses, and professional certification opportunities.
