East West University Department of Pharmacy Hosts Free Dental Campaign and Dental Health Awareness Program

The Department of Pharmacy, East West University organized a two-day long free dental campaign and dental health awareness program for all affiliated members of the university, powered by Pepsodent Bangladesh. The inauguration ceremony of the program took place at 10:00 AM on 27 May 2024 at the Wi-Fi premises of the university. The event was presided over by the Department Chairperson, Dr. Md. Amirul Islam. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Shams Rahman and Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik attended the inauguration ceremony as chief guest and special guest, respectively. In his address, the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor requested the Bangladesh Dental Association for cost minimization of dental services to take it to a mass level and also emphasized on building industry-academia relationship. Additionally, Mr. Sujan Chandra Das, Group Manager and Head of Operations of awareness campaign, Pepsodent Bangladesh was present in the ceremony.
The campaign featured seven professional dentists and aimed to raise awareness about oral health among the university's stakeholders. Pharmacy undergraduate students are expected to benefit directly from the program as it aligns with their curriculum, providing them with valuable insights and practical knowledge in dental care.
This initiative underscores the Department of Pharmacy's commitment to enhancing the well-being of the university community and fostering an environment of learning and health awareness.
