EWU Arranges a Multidisciplinary International Conference

Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (FLASS) and Life Sciences of East West University organized a three day long multidisciplinary International Conference entitled “ICSL 2020: Gender, Health, Information and Environment” on February 27-29, 2020 at EWU Campus, Aftabnagar, Dhaka.
Nearly 200 participants from 12 different countries took part in the conference. The conference provided a leading platform for academics, researchers, and participants to present and discuss the contemporary issues, trends, challenges as well as solutions in the various fields of Gender, Health, Information, and Environment.
The inaugural session of the conference was attended by Ms. Zuena Aziz, Senior Secretary, Syed Manzur Elahi, Chairperson, Board of Trustees, EWU, Prof. Dr. M. M. Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor, EWU, Dr. Ellen Bal, Associate Professor, VU University, Netherlands, and Professor Dr. Fakrul Alam, UGC Professor. The keynote speakers of the inaugural session were Dr. Maitrayee Chaudhuri, Professor, Jawaharlal Neheru University, India and Dr. Tahmeed Ahmed, Senior Director, International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh. Dr. Fouzia Mannan, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, EWU and Dr. Sufia Islam, Professor, Department of Pharmacy, EWU delivered their welcome speech in the inaugural ceremony. A large number of participants were present on the occasion.
