EWU-CRT Organizes a Seminar on “The Emerging Gig Economy and Its Impact on Women and Ethnic Workforces”

East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) organized a research proposal seminar on “The Emerging Gig Economy and Its Impact on Women and Ethnic Workforces”’ on 09 January 2020 at the EWUCRT Seminar Room (Room no- 560) of East West University (EWU). The seminar was addressed by Dr. Sardana Islam Khan, Lecturer, Central Queensland University, Australia, and she was the former Associate Professor of EWU. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury, Member, Board of Trustees, EWU and Chairperson, EWUCRT.

On the occasion, Dr. Sardana Khan, discussed about the gig economy (free market with the independent worker), which is a rising trend in the world. Specially as she focused on Australian issues. She is willing to do the research on this topic in collaboration with the EWUCRT. Her research interest was the impact of women in the gig economy. Dr. Nazmul Hoque, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, EWU was the main discussant in the seminar. After their discussion, a question and the answering session also held on the occasion.

 Professor Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro Vice Chancellor, EWU, Professor Dr. Muhammed Shahriar Haque, Executive Director, EWUCRT, with other officials of EWUCRT and a numerical number of faculty members and students of EWU, also attended the seminar.
