EWU Students Return to Class Through National Flag Hoisting and Oath Recitation Program

East West University (EWU) students returned to class with a solemn National Flag Hoisting and Oath Recitation Program on 18 August 2024. The program was attended by Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser and founder Vice Chancellor, Professor Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor, along with Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Air Cdre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer, Deans, Registrar, Proctor, Chairperson of various academic Departments, Faculty Members, Officers, Staff and large number of Students in the university.

The program began early in the morning with the National Flag hoisting accompanied by the stirring rendition of the National Anthem, symbolizing the collective pride and responsibility towards the nation. Following the flag hoisting, students and others took part in an oath, pledging to serve the country with integrity, uphold the values of justice and equality, and stand firmly against any form of discrimination. The oath underscored the university's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that defends the rights and dignity of all individuals.

In his address, Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin expressed his gratitude to those who assisted students facing trouble in the movement. He also urged students that they should focus their attention on studying. Professor Shams Rahman encouraged them to continue their activism, and their voices to the positive transformation of the nation.

The program concluded with a visit to the graffiti art created by the students. The graffiti, which embodies the themes of unity, diversity, and resistance against discrimination.
