EWU Team Excelled in Jessup Moot Court Competition, 2020

The East West University team has successfully secured the 3rd Runner-up in the prestigious Fourth Bangladesh National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2020. The team consists of three bright students of law and promising future lawyers, namely, Nusrat Jahan Nishat, Nustat Aditi Zaman and Avijhit Shikder. The team was coached by Mr. Sk. Md. Habibullah, Senior Lecturer, Department of Law, East West University. The team was further trained by Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Chairperson and Assistant Professor,  Ms. Adity Rahman Shah, Sennior Lecturer; Mr. Riad Mahmud, Lecturer and Ms. Nadia Rahaman, Lecturer, Department of Law, East West University.

Jessup Bangladesh, in association with the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) United States (US) Department of Justice (DoJ); International Law Students Association (ILSA); University of Asia Pacific (UAP); Old Bailey Chambers and UQEEL organized the Bangladesh national qualifying rounds of Jessup from 6-7 February, 2020. As many as 24 Law Schools from across the country took part in the national qualifying round of Jessup, the largest and prestigious Moot Court Competition for law students across the country and the globe. Jessup is considered as the ‘World Cup’ of Moot Court Competitions, assembling law students from more than 100 nations in its international rounds.
