Oct 08, 2026

The East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) organized its 28th Knowledge Sharing Seminar on October 8, 2026, at the S. M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery, East West University (EWU). This seminar focused on an important research study titled "Socioeconomic Determinants of Acid Attacks in Bangladesh."

The research was presented by Dr. Md. Sanaul Haque Mondal, an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Relations at East West University. His presentation provided valuable insights into the underlying social and economic factors that contribute to acid violence in the country. He highlighted structural vulnerabilities, prevention frameworks, and the need for targeted policy interventions.

The seminar was chaired by Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, Vice Chancellor (Acting) of East West University. The formal proceedings began with welcome remarks from Professor Dr. Md. Sohel Rana, the Executive Director of EWUCRT.

The event attracted active participation from faculty members, students, and EWUCRT officials. Following the presentation, an engaging discussion session allowed attendees to explore research methodologies, legal frameworks, and long-term socioeconomic rehabilitation strategies for survivors.
