Honda Presents GameCon Season 1 hosted by EWU Computer Programming Club

The East West University Computer Programming Club (EWUCoPC) successfully hosted GameCon: Season 1, an exhilarating gaming festival that brought together over 2000 participants from 60+ universities and colleges across Bangladesh. The event, sponsored by prominent organizations such as HONDA, Computer Solutions Inc., MSI,Start Tech Ltd, and GoGlobal., featured a diverse lineup of competitive games, including VALORANT (male and female divisions), Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, FIFA, Counter-Strike 2, DOTA 2, Street Fighter 6, and EFootball (Mobile and PC). In addition to the thrilling matches, the event included four seminars, 25 talent acquisition stalls, and an array of refreshments, creating an engaging and dynamic experience for participants and attendees. The event began with an opening ceremony on January 7, 2025, attended by distinguished guests including Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, Pro Vice Chancellor of East West University; Ms. Ismat Shereen, Adviser – Department of Students’ Welfare and Head of the Career Counselling Center (CCC); Dr. Maheen Islam, Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering; and Dr. Taskeed Jabid, Moderator East West University Computer Programming Club EWUCoPC. The main competitions were streamed online from December 28, 2024, culminating in on-site matches on January 7 and 8, followed by a grand closing ceremony and concert on January 9, 2025.The closing ceremony was graced by Professor Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Dean of Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, Air Commodore (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer of East West University, alongside dignitaries, Professor Dr. Md. Mozammel Huq Khan Azad and Dr. Taskeed Jabid, Dr. Mohammad Manzurul Islam, moderators of East West University Computer Programming Club (EWUCOPC). A total of 27 winners across nine gaming segments were awarded prizes. The event concluded with a grand cultural evening and a concert by AvoidRafa, marking one of the largest event and most successful event of its kind at East West University.
