THE INAUGURAL CEREMONY OF THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT (I-IKM 2021)

The Department of Information Studies and Library Management, East West University in association with East West University Library is organizing the 2nd International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (i-IKM 2021) from 24 June 2021 to 26 June 2021 virtually due to the COVID-19 situation. 

The theme of the 2nd i-IKM 2021 is “Information and Knowledge Management, Innovation and Awareness for Sustainable Library and Information Institutions”. 

The inaugural ceremony of the conference was held on 24 June 2021 (Thursday) at 7:30 PM. Mr. M. A. Mannan, MP, Honorable Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Ministry of Planning was present at the occasion as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Advisor and founder Vice Chancellor of East West University graced the event as the Program Chair. Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro-Vice Chancellor, East West University presented as Special Guest. The Conference Chair, Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management, East West University was also present at the occasion. The keynote paper was presented by Dr. Anna Maria Tammaro, Professor, University of Parma, Italy at the inaugural ceremony. 

At the outset of the program the honorable chief guest along with the program chair, special guest and conference chair inaugurated the conference e-proceedings. The Chief Guest of the Program on his speech emphasized that a sustainable information institution is helping the government in attaining the SDGs and playing role in building knowledge-based society and also acknowledged the initiative taken by the organizer. A total of forty-nine papers will be presented across the technical sessions on 25 and 26 June 2021. Diversified issues related with information and knowledge management will be highlighted and discussed in these sessions. The scholars from USA, Italy, Mexico, Australia, Indonesia, Bosnia Herzegovina, South Africa, Sweden, Hong Kong, Turkey and India will participate in the technical sessions to share insights, practices and experiences from their respective countries.
