Jul 05, 2023

The East-West University MBA Club hosted a workshop titled "Success begins with you" at the S. M. Nousher Ali Gallery on June 10, 2023. Imtiaz Ilahi, an alumnus of East West University and the Managing Director of Wunderman Thompson Bangladesh, was the keynote speaker at the workshop. Imtiaz Ilahi has more than 25 years of corporate experience. Currently, he is managing one of the largest IT outsourcing company in Bangladesh offering a lean alternative that is ideal for marketers in need of efficient global production and technology solutions. He is also an Ironman Triathlete. An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), consisting of a 3.86-kilometer  swim, a 180.25-kilometer  bicycle ride, a marathon 42.20-kilometer  run, completed in that sequence and without a break. It is widely considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world.

In his speech, he portrayed his struggle to recover from a fatal parachute accident with fractured vertebrae and a spinal cord injury and said how he reached this recovery path through confidence, belief, and discipline. He urges students to be confident in themselves and live by discipline. He focused on living a balanced life. He mentioned that success starts with self-awareness, a positive mindset, and the courage to act. According to Mr. Imtiaz, success is built on discipline, perseverance, and dedication. He also stated that you (students) can realize your full potential and live a life of fulfillment and accomplishment. Success is a never-ending cycle of self-reflection and change.

Around 50 students from the MBA and EMBA programs took part in this program. MBA club president Noor Mohammad committed to organizing these types of programs in the future.
