Participation in Training Workshop organized by Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) during 11-12 April 2021

Professor Dr. Basanta Kumar Barmon, IQAC Director, participated in the two-day long webinar workshop on “Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) and Accreditation Standards” organized by Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) on 11 and 12 April 2021. Professor Dr. M. Ruhul Amin, Dean, Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, Professor Dr. Chowdhury Faiz Hossain, Chairperson, Department of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Md. Mobarak Hossain Khan, Chairperson, Department of Social Relations, Dr. Farhana Ferdousi, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Business Administration, and Dr. Biva Arani Mallik, Assistant Professor and Chairperson, Department of Economics, East West University, also participated in the webinar. A total of 70 participants from 10 public and private universities of Bangladesh including the faculty members and IQAC director participated in the training workshop. The main purpose of the training workshop was to train up the faculty members and IQAC directors about BNQF and Accreditation Standards and Criteria, and the implementation of national qualifications frameworks that will help to improve learning skills and competencies of graduates and enhance the quality of higher education qualifications in Bangladesh. The webinar began with a welcome address by Professor Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman, Bangladesh Accreditation Council. During the webinar workshop, Professor Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary, Member, Bangladesh Accreditation Council briefly presented the topic on “Implementation of Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) in Higher Education” and Professor Dr. S M Kabir, Member, Bangladesh Accreditation Council highlighted the topic “Adoption and Maintenance of BAC Accreditation Standards and Criteria”. There was an open discussion (Q/A) at the end of the session of each day whereby all the participants and BAC members joined. The webinar program was ended with vote of thanks from Professor Dr. Md. Golam Shahi Alam, Member, Bangladesh Accreditation Council. The participants also thanked BAC for organizing this webinar workshop.
