Participation in the Webinar “Motivational Workshop on Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education” organized by Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) on 31 August 2021

Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) organized a webinar “Motivational Workshop on Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education” on 31 August 2021. The webinar began with a welcome address by Mr. Istiaque Ahmed, Member, Bangladesh Accreditation Council. Professor Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman of the BAC, chaired the event. He gave a motivational speech on the importance of quality assurance and accreditation processes for improving the quality of higher education. The key resource person of the workshop, Dr. Rozilini M Fernandez Chung, Associate Professor, School of Education University of Nottingham, Malaysia (UNM) briefly addressed the topic entitled “Quality Assurance & Accreditation in Higher Education: Malaysian Experience”. In her deliberation stated that at present the primary motivation of higher education institutions was to raise teaching quality via the development and sharing of good practices. There was an open discussion session towards the end of the webinar. The participants underscored the need for ensuring quality in higher education. The webinar program was ended with a vote of thanks from Professor Dr. Md. Golam Shahi Alam, Member, BAC. The participants also thanked BAC for organizing this webinar workshop.
Professor Dr. Basanta Kumar Barmon, Director of IQAC, all Deans, and Chairpersons of all the departments of East West University participated in the virtual workshop. A total of 241 faculty members from 16 private universities of Bangladesh including the IQAC Directors, Additional Directors, Deans, and Chairpersons participated in the motivational workshop.
