Participation in the Webinar Workshop

On May 04, 2021 the IQAC Director, Prof. Dr. Basanta Kumar Barmon participated in a webinar Regional Consultation workshop on “The Plan of Action (PoA) of the National Food and Nutrition Security Policy (NFNSP) 2020 Bangladesh” jointly organized by The Food Planning and Monitoring Unit (FPMU), Ministry of Food, and the Meeting the Undernutrition Challenge (MUCH) project of FAO of the United Nations. The webinar began with the welcome address of Mr. Md. Shahiduzzaman Faruki, Director General (Additional Secretary), FPMU, Ministry of Food, and Dr. Nur Ahamed Khondaker, Assistant FAO Representative (Programme), FAO Bangladesh. The primary objective of the event was to obtain the feedback and suggestions from national and local level government officials, academia, private sector, civil society organizations and farming communities for finetuning and improvement of the Plan of Action (PoA) for the National Food and Nutrition Security Policy (NFNSP) 2020 to guide investment programs and policy reforms needed to meet the food and nutrition security (FNS) targets of the country, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The four panelists presented papers on the detailed objectives of the Plan of Action (PoA) of the National Food and Nutrition Security Policy (NFNSP) 2020 Bangladesh. A total of more than 250 participants attended the webinar. The session ran for almost four hours and there was an open discussion session towards the end of the webinar. It was an interactive session and all the participants found it really fruitful.
