Webinar Workshop on “Capacity Building in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Teaching Methods” on Saturday, 13 November 2021

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of East West University (EWU) organized a webinar workshop on “Capacity Building in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Teaching Methods” on 13 November 2021 for the faculty members of the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS), and Civil Engineering (CE). The webinar started with a welcome address by Professor Dr. Basanta Kumar Barmon, Director, IQAC, EWU. Professor Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro-Vice Chancellor, East West University gave a motivational speech on the importance of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in higher education for the faculty members and enriching the teaching skills. Professor Dr. Gurudas Mandal, Chairperson, Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, and Dr. Md. Naimul Haque, Chairperson Department of Civil Engineering chaired their own respected sessions.

The distinguished Professor Dr. Md. Mozammel Huq Azad Khan, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, Professor Dr. Anisul Haque, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Professor Dr. Khairul Alam, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering were present at the event as expert members. At the end of the presentation of each group, the expert members gave their valuable suggestions about course curriculum design, development, teaching methods, and student assessment tools.

A total of fifteen faculty members (eleven faculty members from the Dept. of MPS and four faculty members from the Dept. of CE) participated in the workshop. In addition, the senior faculty members of the dept. of MPS and CE were also present at the event.

The participants found the program fruitful and thanked the EWU authority and IQAC for organizing this workshop. At the end of the program, the director expressed his immense gratitude to all the respected expert members and faculty members for making the webinar workshop a complete success. IQAC has plans to hold similar events in the future.
