Workshop on Two day-long “Hands-on Orientation for New Program Evaluators” on 13-14 May 2022

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of East West University (EWU) has taken great initiatives to provide training to the four faculty members from the department of Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) and Civil Engineering (CE) in the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering organized by the Board of Accreditations for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE). A two day-long Hands-on Orientation for New Program Evaluators” was held on 13-14 May 2022 at the Headquarters of Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB). Engineer Md. Nurul Huda, president of IEB graced the inaugural session as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. Engr. A. F. M. Saiful Amin, Chairman (Acting) and Vice Chairman-1, BAETE, was present at the event as the Program Chair, and Prof. Dr. Engr. Kazi Bayzid Kabir, Member Secretary, BAETE, attended the occasion as the Chief Coordinator. The orientation program began with a welcome address by the president of IEB, Engineer Md. Nurul Huda.

The event was conducted by BAETE resource persons based on ten training modules such as BAETE accreditation policy, procedure, quality, professionalism and decorum of evaluation team, accreditation criteria, how to study and analyze Self-Assessment reports, planning an onsite visit, triangulation and evaluation, evaluating the attainment of program outcomes, writing evaluation team report, accreditation management system, observer rule in BAETE accreditation.

A total of sixty five (65) faculty members from twenty five (25) public and private universities of Bangladesh attended this workshop. Dr. Anup Kumar Paul, Associate Professor, Dr. Sarwar Jahan, Assistant Professor from Dept. of ECE, Dr. Md. Naimul Haque, Chairperson and Associate Professor, and Dr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman Talukder, Assistant Professor from Dept. of CE participated in the program. The participated faculty members of EWU have expressed their gratitude to the university authority for financial support, and IQAC for coordinating to attend the workshop organized by BAETE.
