EWU Robotics Club becomes champion in 'DUET TECHFEST’23'

After competing with a vast number of ingenious projects manufactured by students from various universities across the country, "East West University Robotics Club" achieved a proud triumph at DUET TECHFEST'23 with their project called "O-ZONE." Out of approximately 60 teams in total, "East West University Robotics Club" stood out as the winner, showcasing their exceptional skills and creativity in robotics. The glory goes to "Team ZoneX'' the CHAMPION of the "Idea and Project Showcasing" segment, led by Md. Salauddin Sakib, along with Arisha Ashraf Oishi and Mahir Shahriar, under the unwavering guidance of club President Md. Asad Chowdhury Dipu and Vice President Md Mizanur Rahman Riad Khan. East West University's additional director of Quality Assurance and East West University Robotics Club moderator, Professor Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza congratulated all the meritorious members of the team.

The O-Zone project, invented by Md. Salauddin Sakib, is a timely device designed to protect the ozone layer of the atmosphere by reducing the release of pollutant substances from the toxic smoke emitted by vehicles and factories. These emissions contribute to greenhouse gases and are responsible for 7 million deaths worldwide. He has successfully patented the device and its idea with the accuracy of the device was tested by BCSIR, resulting in an 87% accuracy rate. It is expected that the accuracy will increase to 95% with the second and third prototypes.

Congratulations to East West University Robotics Club and Team ZoneX on their glorious victory. It is a matter of pride that our young stars are concerned about environmental improvement and developing remarkable ideas and projects like O-Zone. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the East West University Robotics Club for taking such commendable steps towards making our planet more sustainable and peaceful.
