EWU Welcomes Newcomers through Spring 2026 Departmental Orientation Programs

East West University (EWU) warmly welcomed more than 1,300 newly admitted students through a series of Departmental Orientation Programs organized for the Spring Semester 2026. The programs were held on January 08, 2026, at the EWU campus in Aftabnagar, Dhaka. Each academic department conducted separate orientation sessions tailored to its respective discipline. The sessions were designed to familiarize students with academic guidelines, course structures, faculty members, university rules and regulations, and various student support services available at EWU.
The orientation programs were graced by the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University; Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor of EWU; and Air Commodore (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer of EWU. Deans of different faculties were also present at the departmental sessions. In addition, distinguished guests from the industry and EWU alumni addressed the students, sharing valuable insights from their professional journeys.
In their speeches, the speakers emphasized the importance of individual skill development in the contemporary globalized world. They encouraged students to think globally while acting locally and to maximize the learning opportunities available through university life. The speakers also urged students to actively engage in co-curricular activities by participating in EWU’s 23 vibrant student clubs, which play a vital role in leadership development and personal growth. Concluding their remarks, the speakers advised the new students to enjoy their academic journey, learn from diverse campus experiences, and strive to become responsible and worthwhile citizens of the nation.
