EWUCRT Arranges A Research Seminar

East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) organized a research seminar titled “Human Rights Abuses against the Rohingya in Myanmar: Exploring the Role of Transitional Justice” on 14 March 2024 at the EWUCRT Seminar Room of East West University (EWU). The presenter for the seminar is Mr. Mohammad Pizuar Hossain, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Law, EWU.

The seminar will explore the ongoing human rights abuses faced by the Rohingya people in Myanmar and the potential role of transitional justice mechanisms in addressing these issues. Mr. Hossain will discuss the nature of the abuses, the challenges to accountability, and the various forms of transitional justice that could be implemented to promote healing, reconciliation, and a more just future for the Rohingya community.

The main discussant of the seminar was Professor Professor Dr. Shima Zaman, Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka. A lively question and answer session was also held on the occasion.

The research seminar was conducted by Dr. Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury, Chairperson, EWUCRT. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Shahriar Haque, Executive Director, EWUCRT, has given the introductory speech on the occasion. The Treasurer, Faculty Members, Officials of EWUCRT, and students of EWU attended the seminar.
