East West University Observes International Mother Language Day

East West University (EWU) observed International Mother Language Day, a day that commemorates the language movement of 1952 in Dhaka, which played a crucial role in establishing Bangla as the official language and later the independence of Bangladesh.
The day was marked by various events and activities by EWU and its clubs. The main program of EWU was a “Provat Fery” in Aftabnagar area, and laying wreaths at the uniquely built ‘Shaheed Minar’ at EWU campus, on 21 February 2023. In addition, EWU clubs organized cultural programs including drama, performances of traditional songs, dances, recitations, poster exhibitions, and drawing competitions for showcasing the richness and diversity of Bangla culture.
On the occasion, a prayer was offered for the eternal peace of the martyrs and the greater prosperity of Bangladesh. The program was attended by Professor
Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser and founder Vice Chancellor of East West University, Mrs. Najma Ahmed, Member, Board of Trustees, Mr. Nowshad Shamsul Arefin, Member, Board of Trustees, Mr. Mansoor Mumin, Member, Board of Trustees, Professor Dr. M. M. Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Air Cdre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer, Deans, Faculty Members, Officials, Staff, and a large number of students of EWU attended the event.
