EWUCMC & Unilever Bangladesh enlighten the students about changing consumption pattern in the new normal

Aug 08, 2020

In a time, when businesses were flourishing, the world was struck by the Covid-19 pandemic that disrupted the growth of many businesses around the globe. The outbreak of the pandemic has not only changed the lifestyles of individuals but also changed consumers’ and shoppers’ buying behavior in this new normal. Therefore, to enlighten the future leaders about the current situation of the industry, East West University Creative Marketing Club along with Unilever Bangladesh organized a webinar which addressed the rising subject of changing consumption pattern. The webinar also marked the first collaboration between East West University Creative Marketing Club and the Number 1 Employer of Choice known as “Unilever Bangladesh”.

The webinar was held at 22nd July 2020 on ZOOM Meetings platform. The main purpose of the session was to enlighten students about the "Consumer and Shopper Behavior in the New Normal." The key-note speaker of this session was Ziad Al Noman Pranto, CMI Partner - Home Care, Unilever Bangladesh. He shed light about the current pandemic and how it has affected consumer behavior & their consumption patterns among different consumer groups of Bangladesh as well as worldwide across different industries. He also added, which industries are getting leverage and which are badly affected due to COVID-19. He also covered how companies are adapting with the changing demand and solving the current problems of consumers with the new normal. Lastly, he answered some of the students' queries regarding the FMCG industry and its marketing tactics during this crisis situation.

In conclusion, the session paved way for young entrepreneurs to understand and target the right consumer segments, choose the right offerings and take bold strategies in times of such crisis. This event was part of Unilever's School of Leaders campus programme and EWUCMC was extremely delighted to extend its hands to make this webinar a very successful one.
