Teaching for Active Learning (TAL) Batch 15 Training has been Inaugurated at East West University

East West University (EWU) hosted the Certificate Course on Teaching for Active Learning (TAL: Batch 15), an initiative of the Foundation for Learning, Teaching and Research (fLTR), at EWU Campus, Aftabnagar, Dhaka. The inauguration session of the training program was held at the Farashuddin Bhaban on 10 April 2025. The ceremony, organized and coordinated by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of East West University.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of East West University, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Professor Rahman emphasized the importance of active learning in fostering critical thinking and engagement among students, highlighting the crucial role of educators in shaping the future of higher education. Professor Dr. Sufia Islam, Director of IQAC, East West University, delivered the welcome address, extending a warm welcome to all participants and outlining the significance of the TAL program in advancing pedagogical excellence. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, the Course Director of TAL, who provided an overview of the course objectives and the expected outcomes.
The participating universities included East West University, BRAC University, South East University, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology, Bangladesh University of Health Science, Green University of Bangladesh, University of Asia Pacific, and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. A total of 25 participants are enrolled in this batch. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Dean, Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, EWU, Prof. Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson, Department of Information Science, Dr. Basanta Kumar Barmon, Additional Director, Institutional Quality (IQAC) participated on the occasion among others.
