Teaching Excellence Program jointly organized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh and the British Council from 6 December 2022 to 17 March 2023

  • British Council in partnership with the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh arranged a “Teaching Excellence Programme (TEP)” from 6 December 2022 to 17 March 2023 at Dhaka, Bangladesh. Different teaching-learning modules in Higher Education (HE) were discussed in the workshops, where many aspects of teaching and learning in HE such as effective teaching methods, student-centered learning, student engagement, assessment, and feedback were explored. TEP starts with the welcome session on 24 November 2022. Professor Dr. Basanta Kumar Barmon, Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Additional Director, IQAC participated in the 11 Day-long workshops on TEP. The closing ceremony was held on 17 March 2023 at Sarina Hotel, Dhaka. A total of 30 faculty members from 15 public and private universities in Bangladesh actively participated in the workshop. Every participant actively took part in the workshop and shared their teaching-learning method which surely would be beneficial for advancing individual’s teaching-learning methods. TEP explored how learning and teaching in higher education in Bangladesh would be further enhanced.
