Workshop on “Curriculum Revision and Content Development” on 02 July 2022

For the formation of a revised and upgraded curriculum of the BSS program in Sociology to be consistent with the UGC format of the Outcome Based Education (OBE), a workshop on “Curriculum Revision and Content Development” was organized by Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of East West University on July 02, 2022, Saturday. Six faculty members participated in the workshop. Dr. A. I. Mahbub Uddin Ahmed, Supernumerary Professor, Department of Sociology, East West University was present as a reviewer and resource person. Dr. Fouzia Mannan, Professor, Department of Sociology and Dean of Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, and Dr. Mumita Tanjeela, Assistant Professor and Chairperson, Department of Sociology were also present in the event. In the first session of the workshop Ms. Sifat-E-Sultana, Senior Lecturer and S. M. Anowarul Kayes Shimul, Senior Lecturer, Department of Sociology presented all the progress and updates for the revision curriculum by the faculty members.

In the next session, Professor Ahmed provided his valuable review and instructions for necessary actions in the revision task. To have consistency with the Outcome Based Education (OBE) system he recommended to be more focused on the current researches and upgraded knowledge and emphasized on correlating the courses with the fourth industrial revolution. The workshop ended with the resolution for more innovations in the curriculum revision. The Department of Sociology is thankful to Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for this timely workshop.
