Workshop on “Role of Capstone Project in OBE Curriculum” on 13 August 2022

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of East West University (EWU) organized a day-long workshop on “Role of Capstone Project in OBE Curriculum” for the faculty members of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, which was held on 13 August (Saturday) 2022. The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Taskeed Jabid, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of CSE. Afterward, Professor Dr. Md. Mozammel Huq Azad Khan, Department of CSE, commented on the importance of the Capstone Project in his short but insightful remarks.

Dr. Mohammad Rezwanul Huq, Associate Professor, and Dr. Taskeed Jabid, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of CSE, were at the event as resource persons. Dr. Huq discussed the importance and impact of the Capstone Project in the OBE curriculum. He explained the critical components of a Capstone Project and also focused on the major activities needed to perform for a successful Capstone. Dr. Taskeed Jabid presented on supervising the Capstone Project. Dr. Jabid emphasized using rubrics for marking a Capstone Project and collecting evidence to measure students' soft skills related to the Capstone.

A total of twenty-six faculty members of the department of CSE participated in the workshop. There was a group exercise and an open Q/A at the end of the session. It was an informative and fruitful workshop. The participants expressed their gratitude to the EWU authority and IQAC for the smooth arrangement of the program. In concluding the program, the Chairperson of the Dept. of CSE thanked the participants and the IQAC for organizing this workshop.
