Unravelling Success: Inside the Innovation and Solutions of the “EWU Value String Challenge 2023”

The East-West University Agro-Industrialization Club hosted an intra-university value chain-based case competition called the “EWU Value String Challenge 2023” was held on 18th November. The best seven teams among the forty-five teams got a chance to participate in the final round. The names of the winning teams are Champions- Team Brave Venture, 1st runner up-Strugglers, 2nd runner up UWU Twins.

This competition comprised two phases along with a workshop. The workshop covered topics on the 'Value Chain' industry and provided an overview of 'Case Solving'. The competition consisted of two main phases: the first round, which involved solving the given case, and the final presentation round, where teams presented their solutions. All participating teams received a value chain problems-related case via email.

Value chain-based case competitions offer invaluable experiential learning by immersing participants in real-world scenarios. They foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills while deepening understanding of industry complexities. Participants analyze, strategize, and present solutions. This competition also helps to gain practical insights into optimizing value chains. Such competitions prepare students for dynamic business environments, enhancing their employability and innovation in industry practices.

All teams are evaluated on their ability to identify and analyse industrial problems, develop well-constructed solutions, and present these solutions.

The competition is typically judged by a panel of sales experts who evaluate the solutions presented by each team.
