Biotech Club, East West University has recently organized "Thalassemia Awareness Seminar and Screening Campaign" in collaboration with BioTED and GenX at East West University. The seminar offered valuable insights into Thalassemia, its impact, and the importance of premarital screening. The event was chaired by Dr. Suraia Nusrin, Chairperson, GEB, and the chief guest of the event was Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, Pro Vice-Chancellor, East West University. Dr. Muhammad Sougatul Islam, the keynote speaker, shared his expertise, enhancing the event with his engaging presentation.
The screening campaign saw an inspiring turnout, with approximately 200 students participating in the free Thalassemia screening. This strong response reflects the growing awareness and commitment to early detection.This event serves as a significant step toward promoting health and well-being in our community.
