CRTEWU Arranges A Knowledge-Sharing Seminar

The Center for Research and Training East West University (CRTEWU) successfully concluded its 100th seminar on September 22, 2024. The seminar, titled “Strategic Planning for Sustainable LIS Profession in the World of AI,” provided a platform for knowledge-sharing and discussion on the critical role of Library and Information Science (LIS) in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).

The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson of the Department of Information Studies at East West University. As a renowned expert in the field, Dr. Begum offered valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities presented by AI for LIS professionals. The speaker emphasized the need for strategic planning to ensure the sustainability of the LIS profession in the face of rapid technological advancements.

The seminar was well-attended by researchers, students, and faculty members from various institutions. Participants engaged in lively discussions and shared their perspectives on the impact of AI on LIS practices. The event highlighted the importance of adapting to the changing landscape and leveraging AI to enhance information services and support decision-making.

The seminar was conducted by Dr. Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury, Chairperson, CRTEWU. Professor Md. Sohel Rana, Deputy Executive Director, CRTEWU, has given the introductory speech on the occasion.
