CRTEWU Hosts Seminar on Smart Phone Usage for Women’s Empowerment Against Domestic Violence

The Center for Research and Training at East West University (CRTEWU) successfully hosted a knowledge-sharing seminar titled “Smart Phone Usage for Women’s Empowerment to Respond Against Domestic Violence in Bangladesh” on January 2, 2025, in the CRTEWU Seminar Room at East West University (EWU).

The seminar featured a presentation by Dr. Touhida Tasnima, Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Relations at EWU. Dr. Tasnima recently completed her PhD on this important topic and shared her research findings with the audience.

Dr. Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury, a Member of the Board of Trustees at EWU and Chairperson of CRTEWU, presided over the seminar session. The audience participated actively, asking insightful questions, making comments, and providing valuable feedback during the Q&A session.

Notable attendees included Dr. Joy Samad, a Member of the Board of Trustees at EWU, and Air Commodore (Retired) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer of EWU, who also shared their thoughts on the topic of the seminar.

Professor Dr. Muhammed Shahriar Haque, the Executive Director of CRTEWU, delivered the introductory speech, emphasizing the significance of the topic and the presenter.

The seminar highlighted the critical role of smartphones in empowering women to combat domestic violence and underscored the importance of technological solutions in addressing social issues.
