Dr. S. R. Lasker Library, East West University celebrated National Library Day on 05 February 2024, under the inspiring theme "গ্রন্থাগারে বই পড়ি, স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ গড়ি". As a part of the celebration of this day, library was decorated with colorful balloon, festoon, banners, posters, etc. to make the library users aware of the importance of library in lifelong learning. Besides, the library organized the following activities for the occasion:

• Recognizing the outstanding library users in EWU community Sharing inspiring library stories on our library website A two-day "Meet and Greet" event for faculty members to dive into our library's resources and services Professor Shams Rahman, Honorable Vice Chancellor, East West University inaugurated this day through red ribbon cutting at the library. During the "Meet and Greet" event, Professor A. K. Enamul Haque, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Dr. Farzana Akhter, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, the department Chairpersons and faculty members engaged in activities like guided tours, interactive resource showcases, and shared their love of literature and learning. Dr. Dilara Begum, Chairperson, Department of Information Studies, and Librarian (In-Charge) highlighted the library's innovative offerings.

Additionally, an award ceremony to honor the outstanding library users of 2024 was conducted on 07 February 2024 at the Newspaper and Journal Section of the library. Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor of East West University, graced the event and handed over the prizes to the winners.

Farzana Sharmin Pamela Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Md. Sanaul Haque Mondal, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Relations were awarded as outstanding faculty library user in 2024. Jarin Sufia Iqbal, Undergraduate Student, Department of Law, Mehedi Hasan, Undergraduate Student, Department of CSE and Sadika Parvin Mumu, Undergraduate Student, Department of EEE were awarded as best student library user in 2024. This event served as a platform to showcase the Dr. S. R. Lasker Library's dedication to fostering lifelong learning, supporting research and teaching, and contributing to the development of a smart Bangladesh.
