East West University Celebrates CSE Fest 2024

CSE Fest 2024 unfolded vibrantly at East West University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, captivating attendees over two action-packed days on April 24-25. This grand event, hosted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of East West University, emerged as a hub of technological innovation, career development, and lively competition, drawing participants from across the region.
The festivities commenced with an engaging inaugural ceremony featuring several distinguished guests, including Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, the Chief Adviser and Founder Vice Chancellor of East West University, Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, the Chairman (in Charge) of the University Grants Commission, and Professor Shams Rahman, the Vice Chancellor of East West University. Dr. Maheen Islam, Chairperson of the department, also graced the event.
With over 1300 participants from 26 different universities, the festival was a hive of activity. Enthusiastic attendees engaged in a variety of competitions. The Robosoccer and Line Follower contests showcased remarkable robotic skills, while the Programming Contest tested coding expertise. The Gaming Event featured popular games like Valorant and FIFA, attracting gamers from all over, and the IT Olympiad challenged 400 students to their IT knowledge and problem-solving skills. The Project Showcasing allowed 70 participants to display their innovative projects, highlighting their creativity and technical acumen. The event also included enriching seminars and workshops led by industry experts.
A notable addition to this year’s festival was the career fair, where various companies from the software and IT industry participated. This provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to network with potential employers and learn about career paths in the tech field.
A highlight was the Gaming Champion title, clinched by Team AIUB, which was celebrated along with other winners and runners-up during the closing ceremony. This final gathering was presided over by dignitaries including Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shams Rahman and Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik of East West University, along with department Chairperson Dr. Maheen Islam. The ceremony included the awarding of prizes and transitioned into a cultural showcase featuring music, dance, and various artistic performances that celebrated the diverse talents of the participants.
CSE Fest 2024 exemplified the strength of collaboration, innovation, and community in fostering technological advancement. It offered a wealth of competitions, insightful sessions, and networking opportunities, leaving an indelible mark on all attendees, and inspiring them to explore new frontiers in Computer Science and Engineering.
