East West University Concludes National Policy Competition 2025 Institutional Final; Team Beyond Borders Crowned Champion

East West University successfully hosted the final institutional round of the prestigious National Policy Competition 2025 on 30th September 2025, an initiative organized under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Bangladesh. The topic assigned to East West University was “Bangladesh's Graduation from LDC Status: Preparing to Harness Opportunities and Overcome Emerging Challenges.”
The program started with the national anthem. After that, the top five teams progressed to the final institutional round, where they presented their policy papers before the panel of judges. These teams presented their paper one after another. The allocated time for the presentation was twelve minutes. After each presentation, the audience and judges got three minutes for a question answer session. The teams presented their paper in the following order: Team Typhoon, Team Cohesion, Team Beyond Borders, Team Dripto Pod, and Team Strategy Loom. After the presentations, the honorable judges and distinguished guests delivered their valuable speeches.
The session began with remarks from Md. Farhan Faruqui, Faculty of Business Administration, East West University. This was followed by a speech from special guest Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque, Director General, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS). Next, Md. Iqbal Hussain, Additional Secretary (Administration Wing), Ministry of Youth and Sports, addressed the audience with his insightful thoughts. The speeches continued with the Chief Guest, Dr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor (State Minister Rank), Ministry of Finance, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, who shared his inspiring words. Finally, the Chair of the session, Professor Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor, East West University, delivered his speech, highlighting the significance of youth participation in policy making. Vice-Chancellor, East West University, offered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, organizers, and guests for making the event a success.
After careful assessment, Md. Farhan Faruqui announced the results of the competition as follows: Champion - Team Beyond Borders, 1st Runner-up - Team Strategy Loom, and 2nd Runner-up - Team Cohesion. The winning teams were awarded prize money along with certificates and crests. The Champion team received BDT 45,000, the 1st Runner-up received BDT 30,000, and the 2nd Runner-up received BDT 15,000. The winning teams received their awards from the chief guest and the special guests.
