East West University Observed the 53rd Independence Day

East West University (EWU) observed the 53rd Independence Day of Bangladesh by paying homage to the brave freedom fighters and millions of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence. The National Flag and the University flag were hoisted at the 'Shaheed Minar' premises at 5:57 a.m. by Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Founder President of the Board of Directors, Chief Adviser and Founder Vice Chancellor of EWU and Professor Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of EWU respectively. A special "Munajat" was offered for the peace and prosperity of Bangladesh.

Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of EWU, addressed the audience with a brief speech highlighting the significance of Bangabandhu's historical speech of the '7th March' in the liberation war of Bangladesh. He urged every citizen to reduce wastage at all levels to make the country better. Professor Shams expressed his gratitude to everyone who attended the program in the early morning.

The event was also attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Ashik Mosaddik, Air Cdre (retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer, Deans, Faculty Members, Students, Officers, and University Staff.
