EWU Celebrates International Women’s Day

East West University (EWU) celebrated International Women’s Day with colorful programs at EWU Campus, Aftabnagar, Dhaka on Thursday, 09 March 2023 on the celebration of International Women’s Day. The University has arranged a vibrant rally at the Campus area and Aftabnagar Main Road. The rally was attended by Professor Dr. M.M. Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro Vice Chancellor, Air Codre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer along with Deans, Faculty Members, Officers, and students of the university have participated in the rally.
The event was followed by a seminar at the Manzur Elahi Auditorium of EWU. The main theme of the seminar was “DigitAll: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”. The seminar was attended by among others, Dr. Firdausi Qadri, Emeritus Scientist, icddr,b as the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. M M Shahidul Hassan, Vice-Chancellor of EWU and Dr. Farzana Akhter, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, EWU, as the special guests. The program was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser, and Founder Vice Chancellor of the University.
In the discussion, they highlighted the progress of women in Bangladesh as well as EWU. They urge all to be vocal about women's rights to equal participation guaranteed in family, society, workplaces, and in politics. A large number of faculty members, officers and students of the university were present on the occasion.
