EWU Holds Orientation for Graduate Diploma in Leather, Leather Goods, and Footwear Management

The Executive Development Center (EDC), Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), of East West University (EWU), organized an Orientation Program for the fifth and sixth batches of its Graduate Diploma in Leather, Leather Goods and Footwear Management. The event took place at the S. M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery on the EWU campus on 13 May 2025.

Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University and Adviser of the Executive Development Center (EDC), Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), EWU, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, Professor Rahman emphasized the significant role of skilled professionals in the leather industry and highlighted the importance of this graduate diploma program in meeting the growing demands of the sector. He welcomed the new students and encouraged them to make the most of the learning opportunities provided by the program.

Mr. Mohammed Walid Hossain, Additional Secretary and Executive Program Director (EPD) of the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh, attended the program as the Special Guest. Mr. Hossain underscored the government's commitment to developing skilled manpower across various industries, including the leather sector, and commended EWU's initiative in offering this specialized diploma program.

The Orientation Program was chaired by Professor Dr. Tanbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Program Director of the Executive Development Center (EDC), Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), EWU. Professor Chowdhury provided an overview of the graduate diploma program, its curriculum, and the resources available to the students. Dr. Mohammad Rezwanul Huq, Assistant Director, EDC and Associate Professor of the Department of CSE, EWU, facilitated the program. A large number of participants were present at the orientation program.
