EWU National RoboFest 2026 Opens with Grand Ceremony, Bringing Together Bangladesh's Brightest Young Innovators

Jun 29, 2026

East West University (EWU) officially inaugurated the two-day EWU National RoboFest 2026 on 28 June 2026 Sunday with a colourful opening ceremony, launching one of Bangladesh's largest university-level robotics and technology festivals. Organized by the East West University Robotics Club with support from the ICT Division of the Government of Bangladesh, this year's festival is being held under the theme "Domination's Destiny."

Bringing together more than 1,400 participants from over 60 educational institutions across the country, the festival provides a dynamic platform for aspiring innovators to showcase their talent in robotics, cybersecurity, gaming, and technology-driven innovation. More than a competition, RoboFest serves as a launchpad where ideas evolve into innovations, prototypes become future technologies, and students take their first steps toward becoming entrepreneurs, researchers, and global technology leaders.

The opening ceremony introduced the festival's six major competition segments and recognized the invaluable contributions of sponsors, partner organizations, advisers, volunteers, and organizing committee members whose collective efforts made the event possible.

Among the distinguished guests were Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of East West University; Air Cdre (Retd.) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer; and Professor Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering. On behalf of the East West University Robotics Club, Professor Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza presented a token of appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor in recognition of his continued support for student-led technological initiatives.

Addressing the audience, the speakers underscored the growing importance of robotics, artificial intelligence, automation, and other emerging technologies in shaping education, industry, and the future workforce. They emphasized that platforms such as RoboFest play a vital role in nurturing innovation, strengthening practical skills, and preparing students to meet the challenges of an increasingly technology-driven world.

The festival officially commenced with a spectacular drone show, creating an exciting and festive atmosphere for participants and visitors alike. Chairpersons of various departments, Proctor, faculty members, Head of the Career Counseling Center, club moderators, judges, industry partners, participants, distinguished guests, and students attended the program.

The first day's events featured the Capture the Flag (CTF) cybersecurity competition, presented by Cyber Bangla at the university's Admission Office. A total of 149 teams participated in the preliminary round, with 25 teams comprising 80 contestants advancing to the finals after demonstrating outstanding analytical and cybersecurity skills.

The gaming segment, organized in collaboration with Zenetic eSports and Global Brand at the Manzur Elahi Auditorium, attracted enthusiastic participation from gamers across the country. The competition featured EA Sports FC 26 and Valorant, with 111 participants in EA Sports FC 26 and 38 teams competing in the Valorant championship.

The second day of the festival, on June 29, will feature three flagship events: the Line Follower Robot Competition, Robo Soccer, and the Project Showcasing Competition. The festival will conclude with a grand Prize Giving and Closing Ceremony, followed by a vibrant cultural program at the Manzur Elahi Auditorium.

The organizers expressed optimism that EWU National RoboFest 2026 will inspire the next generation of innovators to pursue robotics, research, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven solutions while strengthening Bangladesh's growing ecosystem of engineering excellence and innovation.
