EWUCRT Hosts a Research Seminar

Jul 23, 2026

The East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) hosted a research seminar titled "PAUMIoT: Protocol-Agnostic Universal Middleware for Context-Aware Decision Making in IoT" on 23 July 2026 at the EWUCRT Seminar Room. The seminar was chaired by Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor of East West University (EWU). Proceedings commenced with an opening address by Professor Dr. Md. Sohel Rana, Director of EWUCRT, who introduced the multi-institutional research team behind the study.  The research team included:

  • Dr. Hasan Mahmood Aminul Islam – Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, EWU, Bangladesh
  • Dr. Anisur Rahman – Associate Professor, Department of CSE, EWU, Bangladesh
  • Dr. Michael Georgiades – Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, Neapolis University of Pafos, Cyprus
  • Dr. Sanaul Haque – Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Software Engineering, LUT School of Engineering Sciences, Finland
  • Dr. Riadul Islam – Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, USA

The seminar's core featured a keynote presentation by Dr. Hasan Mahmood Aminul Islam. He presented the PAUMIoT framework, a protocol-agnostic universal middleware designed to enable seamless, context-aware decision-making across heterogeneous IoT environments and communication standards.

Dr. Raihan Ul Islam, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at EWU, served as the event's key discussant, providing expert analysis on the scalability, security, and practical deployments of universal IoT middleware.

Following the main presentation, attendees participated in a short but interactive question-and-answer session. Faculty members, EWUCRT officials, and enthusiastic students attended the seminar.
