EWUCRT Hosts Research Seminar on AI-Powered Academic Assistants

The East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) organized a research seminar titled “AI-Powered East West University Assistants: Leveraging Large Language Model for Enhanced Learning and Engagement.” The event, held on 29 December 2025 at the EWUCRT Seminar Room, showcased innovative approaches to integrating artificial intelligence within the higher education landscape.
The research proposal was presented by a distinguished team from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), EWU, including: Dr. Mohammad Rifat Ahmmad Rashid, Associate Professor, Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, Dr. Shamim H Ripon, Professor, and Dr. Raihan Ul Islam, Associate Professor.
Dr. Mohammad Rifat Ahmmad Rashid presenter of the seminar focused on how Large Language Models (LLMs) can be customized to create specialized university assistants. These AI-driven tools aim to enhance student engagement, streamline administrative queries, and provide a more personalized learning experience for the EWU community.
Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, Pro Vice Chancellor of EWU, chaired the event. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of staying at the forefront of technological advancements to maintain academic excellence. Earlier, Professor Dr. Sohel Rana, Executive Director of EWUCRT, delivered the welcome remarks. The seminar was graced by the presence of Dr. Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury and Dr. Muhammad A. Mannan, both esteemed Members of the Board of Trustees, EWU. The session concluded with a vibrant Q&A segment, where faculty members, students, and EWUCRT officials engaged with the presenters.
