EWUCRT Organizes Seminar on PRIoTP: Partially Reliable RL-Based Context-Aware Transport for IoT
Jun 04, 2026
The East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) organized its 131st Research Seminar, titled “PRIoTP: A Partially Reliable and RL-Based Context-Aware Transport Protocol for the IoT Network Driven by Edge Intelligence,” at the EWUCRT Seminar Room (Room 560) on June 4, 2026.
The research is a collaborative effort by a team of scholars, including Dr. Hasan Mahmood Aminul Islam, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Rashedul Amin Tuhin, Senior Lecturer, from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, East West University, Dr. Riadul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, University of Maryland, Baltimore County and Dr. Sanaul Haque, Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Software Engineering, LUT School of Engineering Sciences, Finland.
On behalf of the research team, Dr. Islam and Mr. Tuhin presented the study. The presentation showcased PRIoTP, an innovative IoT communication protocol that combines Reinforcement Learning and Edge Intelligence to optimize data transmission in dynamic network environments. Built on UDP with user-centric reliability mechanisms, the protocol aims to reduce latency and overhead while maintaining efficient and adaptive communication.
The Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, deans, chairpersons, faculty members, research students of EWU, and EWUCRT officials attended the event. Following the presentation, an interactive and productive question-and-answer session was held. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks from the session chair, Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of East West University.
