EWUESC Spreads Joy Through “Eid for All, Iftar for All” Initiative

Mar 15, 2026

Upholding a decade-long tradition of community service, the East West University Environmental & Social Club (EWUESC) organized its signature event, “Eid for All, Iftar for All,” to share the blessings of the upcoming Eid celebrations with the underprivileged.

The event, held in front of the East West University (EWU) campus on 12 March 2026, was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson and Founder Vice Chancellor of EWU. His participation provided immense encouragement to the student volunteers as they distributed 52 comprehensive grocery packs to local families, underprivileged children, and university support staff. Each pack contained essential items, including rice, sugar, lentils, oil, and shemai, intended to ensure a festive and dignified celebration for the recipients.

The initiative was further supported by the guidance of Ms. Ismat Shereen, Adviser of the Students’ Welfare Department and Head of the Career Counseling Center (CCC),  Ms. Nadia Rahaman, the Moderator of EWUESC. Other notable attendees included Mirza Ahsanul Hossain, Deputy Director (CCC); Farhana Rahman, Assistant Registrar (CCC); Md. Rashidul Hasan Khan, Assistant Chief of Admin & Logistics, EWU. Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin commended the club members for their empathy and commitment to social responsibility, noting that such grassroots efforts are vital for fostering inclusive joy within the community.
